The garden suite in our old inn building above the pond, with timber posts, a four-poster bed, a sitting area and its own little dining nook.

Breakfast eggs from our hens are in the fridge when you arrive. It is private and simple, with its own entrance and everything you need for a short stay. It sleeps 2 across one bedroom with 1 bed. Hemlock forests, waterfalls and small river towns, about two and a half hours from New York City.

The heating didn't work for most of our first night and it was cold. Nora was responsive and had it fixed by morning, but it took the shine off the weekend.
