A house across the road from the beach at Camp Richardson, with a deck facing the lake and bikes for the trail.
Most rooms face the water, and the mornings are calm enough to swim before breakfast. It sleeps 6 across three bedrooms with 4 beds. Ski runs in winter, a clear alpine lake in summer, and pine forest all year on the California shore.

We came for a long weekend and didn't want to leave. The photos don't do the light justice in the mornings.

Check-in was easy, the place was warm when we arrived, and the little guide to the area was genuinely useful.
